This album was the second part of a two-CD joint enterprise with Carnoe's Mummingbirds, originally released back in 2001. Both Carnoe's Mummingbirds and Calcutta were essentially furlough projects from the parent band, Granny Takes a Trip.

Both of these CDs were originally issued with a cover featuring a small window into which some titles printed on laminated sleeves could be inserted. For the Calcutta CD, there were four potential titles to display:

- "Tulips From Spalding"
- "Exactly"
- "Personal Landslides"
- "Cathedrals Of Capitalism"

Scans of these inserts are included in the download.

All tracks have been restored from the original master tapes and remastered. Two bonus tracks are included in the download related to the original release, an instrumental of My Favourite Colour and The Thought Process. And it's free - quite happy that you name your price as £0

Made in haste, enjoyed in longevity.
